Full Manual mode for the Gearbox?

Featured Replies

Is there such a thing now?

In my Mk3 Superb, you slid the gearbox leaver over and the car would go into a manual mode let you do the driving.

So far i cant find a way of doing that in our Mk4, yes i can use the paddles and row my own for a short time, but as soon as the car decides that funs over, it goes back to auto mode until i pull a paddle again.

Is there a way to keep it in manual, or has this been jettisoned for the greater good?

Thanks

Set it to Sport Mode then use the paddles. It won’t reset to Automatic.

This is normal behaviour, if you use a paddle the gearbox responds and after awhile goes back to the automatic setting, it’s for knocking down a gear to pass someone for example. If you use sport mode overall or select sport for the gearbox with the toggle then using a paddle will switch to manual and stay there until you toggle back out of it or hold the up paddle in which does the same thing (cycles from manual to sport to drive)
