Fuel vent / EVAP pipe

Featured Replies

On recent service, dealer picked up a split in the EVAP pipe on top of the engine and the dealer quoted £460 to replace it. (Includes replacing the sensors which seem to be working fine?)

I wrapped it in tape until I decided what to do and its been a couple of weeks and that's holding fine. Given that its only a vent pipe, and not carrying any liquid or under any pressure, could I just seal it with some heat shrink tubing to hold it together and strengthen it? Anyone done this before?
