I know its not the right forum since its not a Skoda , but my dads Citroen Xantia TDI has developed a whisteling noise under acceleration, sounda like its comming from the turbo. Could this be some kind of leak in a hose that would be easy to fix, or do you think it could be something more serious? It doesnt seem to affect power.

As far as i'm aware its the turbo spooling up!

I dont realy know what that meens, as Im not that used to turboengines (mine is a 1.4mpi...), but if its the sound the turbo makes when it "kicks inn", then it shure has changed alot in the last month ... :confused:

my other car is a renault megane 1.9dci turbo diesel and the whistle noise is basically the turbo powering up, citreon/renault same engines mine does it but noticed more audible since having it serviced something to do with cleaner oil as i noticed when picking it up suggested by renault mechanic.
