Braking at lights or junctions

Featured Replies

Today I replaced my 17 plate 190 Diesel L&K for a 2025 190 diesel L&K. On my old car I used to be able to use a button on the centre console to stop my car creeping forward without having to use the brake pedal. On my new car I do not seem to have a thecsame option. Does the newer car mot have this?

Yes it does but no physical button. Just read the on line manual for instructions on how to enable/disable it. The feature is called autohold.

Vehicle Settings (car icon on top left) > Vehicle> Vehicle > Exterior > Swipe the car to the rear view > Brakes

Here you will find the autohold setting.

So intuitive Škoda...

I’ve added it to my favourites bar (top left of the screen in the picture above). Easy to turn it off when parking…

Is there an option for your own favorites? I think I have to read the manual....

Page 72 of the printed manual gives an overview of the “Preferred functions” and “Favourite applications” icon positions but you’ll need to refer to the online manual for details on how to set them up. I’ve assigned an icon for the autohold in the “Preferred functions” bar.

A bit crazy to have a printed manual which then refers us to the online manual to find out these things. Was reading the printed book which contained multiple references to the online manual. As a new owner since last July, I've found it simpler to search youtube for retailer/dealer instruction videos, pretty sure this way I didn't need to read the whole printed manual and saved a lot of time.

I find both manuals to be pretty poor to be honest, very lacking in detail…

My last car was a Volvo XC40. The downloadable manual in PDF format was almost 700 pages long and the detail excellent. Much easier to use. Volvo have also gone online only now I believe, seems to be defacto these days ☹️
