Are factory fitted Octavia IV batteries AGM..?

Featured Replies

As per the title

About to charge using CTEK, not sure whether to manually set it to AGM setting or not....

I don't know if it's consistent across all regions, but mine is an EFB+, not AGM.

I use a CTEK CT5 stop/start charger, but it has auto detection of battery type and is suitable for all lead acid type batteries including Wet, Gel, and optimized for EFB & AGM. Maybe the setting isn't too critical? Is there no indication of type on the battery itself?

Yeah I just let it choose automatically, it didn't utilise the AGM feature, but put a full charge in my battery anyway. Shortly after posting this I noticed that it actually say's EFB+ right on top of the battery, doh! 😃

Most Skodas are factory fitted with EFB batteries not AGM batteries, cost saving!
