Fitting new brake servo vacuum pipe - 1.4 16v engine

Featured Replies

Hello Skoda enthusiasts,

When replacing my brake servo pipe with a now one, is it simply a case of pulling out the old and plugging the ends in directly?

On the new one, one end has a rubber boot type thing and the other end is plastic with a bit of ribbing on it.

Are there any gaskets/ seals etc necessary for a snug fit? Wanted to check before I make anything worse...

Any advice appreciated and thanks in advance.

It will be easier to remove the servo end of the old one if you deplete the residual vacuum by pressing brake pedal a few times first.

A bit of saliva as lube on the new one will reduce the force required to insert that end.

Other (inlet manifold) end may have a metal clip on the original, not sure.

As long as new one is a snug fit that can probably be replaced by a cable tie, or small jubilee clip, but don't over-tighten, the spigot is plastic.

Thank you Breezy_Pete for the tips. Seems hard to stuff it up but you never know. I am capable of anything.
