What are these red LED's?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2024 Skoda Superb Mk4 (I call it Mr. Hyde) for obvious reasons. For some reason it has suddenly started showing two lit red LED's; one either side of the SOS button in the pod above the rear view mirror. It still shows the green LED; I suppose to say the SOZS function is working.

I questioned this with my local dealer with the expected answer... not sure, if there are no other warning lights on the dash just ignore it!

They went off briefly driving back from town, but then came on again a few miles further along. They must be trying to tell me something?

Does anyone out there know what?

For further explanation of this see the red lights in the photo?20260122_095824[1].jpg

Aren’t they the “mood” lights for the cabin?

Does your model have the mood lighting option (eg lit led strips in the door panels) and if so are they set to red in the colour menu?

Do they come on at the same time as the led strips?

Just checked my car and can confirm they are indeed part of the mood light system. They are purple in my car. They come on in dark lighting conditions and go off once it gets lighter.IMG_0042.jpeg

They illuminate the area around the centre console. Can't believe the dealer didn't know the answer to that...

Do you know, until this thread, I hadn't even noticed them 🤣

I don't have these lights in my 2026 Superb. I wonder when and why Škoda did away with them

i don't have them either in MY2026

I have a June 25 build SE L and this is mine:

I have no idea if the lights were this colour when I picked it up.

The light around the doors and front were red, I changed them to green.

Your interior lights match the dash light, I think that’s the link.

Interesting, mine was built September 2025. I would love to get a hold of this part and replace it. My old Volvo had lights like this and I really liked the effect

Interesting,

They might have removed the option as:

A cost saving measure

Or

They received many complaints that the lights are too bright

Who knows?
