Recently (since last software update?) my iV estate (MY2021) has started deadlocking as I leave the vehicle. Today my wife was dropping me off at airport and got out of the car leaving her phone and key inside. Car locked itself. Luckily I was able to open with Skoda app. Otherwise would have to break window. This is dangerous. I gather Skoda is denying this is a problem!

Had customer with VW not Skoda but theres did the same. Luckily they had left window down slightly for dog and we managed to fish their key out of car for them. In there case it was the battery in key that was failing so car assumed the key wasnt in it as it couldnt detect it. Spoke to them later on and new battery and it hasnt done it since.

Quick question, how do you unlock it with the app? Mine once locked with the key inside, I changed the battery in it and thankfully it didn't happen again. I had no idea you could unlock it with the app though so had to find another means of getting home to get my spare key then go back for my car 🤬

The first item in the Car menu (Vehicle Status) says whether the car is locked or unlocked and there is a toggle switch on the right to change the status

I don't have the toggle switch... 🤔

AIUI, the early cars don’t have the remote lock/unlock capability; mine certainly doesn’t.

I think it may be to do with the comms unit; mine can’t do OTA updates of the infotainment system itself, only apps and maps. Later builds can.
