Rattles Mk.4 2025

Featured Replies

I have some rattles in the rear of the car particularly obvious on rough roads at low speeds. I thought that they were coming from the nearside back seat/boot area. I removed everything from the boot, removed the parcel shelf and lowered the rear seats but the annoyance is still present but a little louder. My long suffering wife sat in the back and thought the noise might be coming from the door on either side or the boot area but douldn't say if it was from the left or right side. I also sat in the back and agreed with my wife's 'diagnosis' but couldn't locate the area.

I'd be very grateful for suggestions/hints/experience of anything similar. I'm reluctant to take the car to a dealer as I'm very doubtful if the rattle would be investgated as part of the warranty.

Presumably you have lifted the floor of the boot and checked that there is nothing loose underneath?

You've said "I'm reluctant to take the car to a dealer as I'm very doubtful if the rattle would be investigated as part of the warranty". But the rattle could be a symptom of a serious mechanical issue and, if you can easily demonstrate the noise to a Skoda dealership (and as your car is so new) I can't see why they should refuse to investigate the issue free of charge.

If you don't ask, you won't get...

& the 3 year warranty has exclusions. So fit and finish and other things can be limited to 6 months / 6,000 miles. So report issues ASAP, even have them check. & be sure a Technician Road Tests and not a Salesperson or Service Manager. They 'Do not all do that'. If they did they can let you drive one they have as a demonstrator. Also if ' They have never heard of that before', that is because Deaf or Daft, Or first day on the job.

.Sorry my bad, 6,500 miles not 6,000 miles for some things a Dealership Employee might try telling you not valid for a warranty claim. Free work.

Thanks for all the warranty info. My car will be 1 year old in 3 days! It seems to me that the warranty is something of a jungle and open to interpretation. I'll talk to the dealer and see what the reaction is.

Did you get an answer to this question?

I have a rattle and believe it's on either the boot latch or latch pin, it's maybe just something that just needs alignment/ adjustment hopefully.
