2025 Superb L&K 265 Estate Issues

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just thought I would post some issues I have with my Superb to see if others are experiencing the same.

  1. Serious rattling from front door panels, and dashboard on rough tarmac roads, awful sound

  2. anti collision always going off and braking causing whiplash

  3. some systems off line for the entire journey then just come on again

  4. Washer time to wipe too slow

  5. mysterious oil on windscreen making driving in wet a challenge, smears on windscreen suspect leaking wiper arm

Hi Minter.

I have a 3 Month old SE L 2.0 TDI estate, not a lot different from yours. 3.1k miles on the clock.

My driving is at least 25% small country Somerset roads.

I get no rattling on any type of road and my dash is very quiet.

Anti collision systems flash on the screen frequently. I’ve had 4 or 5 occasions where it’s just applied the brakes for a fraction of a second. Yesterday for the first time it locked up the front wheels at about 35mph for no apparent reason that I saw.

Washer has fast and slow as well as on demand 2 speed.

Now the windscreen…….. it’s not run on oil, just from the electric motor.

I would, Clean my screen and wipers a couple of times to remove the oil.

Have your washed the car and applied a spray finish after washing?

This can have a similar effect (don’t ask me how I know 🤦‍♂️).

It took about 4 applications of screen cleaner and a decent amount of elbow grease to remove 80% of it. Most of the rest has worn away by now.

If this applies to you…..

Remember the clean the blades as well otherwise it will be wash rinse repeat sadly

Hi John,

Thanks for your time to reply!

I thought I would post here to see the responses as I have just had to officially raise a complaint with Skoda.

The car has been to the dealer workshop for 3 days and they completely removed the dash/door panels, re-fitted and the same rattling noises are there still, very annoying with no faults found with the dashboard retaining nuts/bolts etc. I cover around 30k a year and the car was delivered June 2025, so put up with it for far too long really.

Anyhow, it's nice to hear your cockpit is rattle free!

Ref the windscreen, I replaced the blades 3 weeks ago. the first week or so it looked like it had sorted it, but in the last 2 weeks with all the rain again the smears are back it is very frustrating. I drove to Scotland from Cambridge with the family and out of desperation washed the windscreen with a dishwasher tablet to try and remove the residue but hey ho no luck!

😁

Cheers Steve

Steve,

I hope they finally get it sorted for you.

After all the cleaning you’ve done on the w/screen, I’m surprised it’s still smearing to be honest.

Out of ideas, I asked an AI.

The response is below, hopefully there is a gem in there somewhere (I doubt it, you’ve done most if not all of them) The inside of the screen seemed a bit left of field 🤷‍♂️

John

Why the Smear Keeps Returning

  • Invisible Contamination Layers: Standard glass cleaners often fail to remove "road film"—a tough mix of exhaust particles, tyre rubber, and road tar. Other culprits include silicone residue from car wash waxes or rain repellents (like

    Rain-X

), which can emulsify and cause a milky smear when wet.

  • Contaminated Wiper Blades: Even if you clean the glass, dirty or aged wiper blades will immediately re-deposit "gunk" back onto the surface with the first wipe. Over time, the rubber edge also hardens or cracks, preventing it from making full contact with the glass.

  • Wiper Fluid Issues: Low-quality or overly concentrated screenwash can leave its own film on the glass.

  • Glass Imperfections: Micro-scratches or tiny pits from road debris can trap dirt and air, causing the water to smear rather than clear cleanly.

How to Remove It Permanently

  1. Deep Clean the Glass:

    • Degrease: Use rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or white vinegar to cut through greasy road film.

    • Clay Bar: Use a detailing clay bar to pull out embedded contaminants that liquid cleaners miss.

    • Abrasive Polish: For the most stubborn residues, use a dedicated glass polish or cerium oxide paste to restore a perfectly smooth surface.

  2. Restore the Wipers:

    • Clean the rubber edges thoroughly with a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol until no black residue comes off.

    • If the blades are over 6–12 months old or feel hard/notched, replace them.

  3. Refresh the Fluid: Drain old washer fluid and replace it with a high-quality concentrate diluted correctly with distilled water to avoid mineral buildup
