Remove MIB3 infotainment unit in glovebox?

Featured Replies

Hi all. I'm trying to remove the infortainment unit in the glovebox of my iV, to get to the cables behind. This is the MIB3 unit, without SD cards etc. When I insert the keys I can pull the unit almost all the way out, but something is clearly holding it back and I'm reluctant to apply to much force in case I break or dislodge something. Is there a trick to this, or am I going to have to remove the whole glovebox first?

Thanks

Steve

There’s a cable tie on the bundle of cables attaching it to the dash rail. You should be able to see it just above the fuse box if you pull glovebox right down. Be very careful when you snip it to not catch any of the wires.

Also you may find the removal keys get stuck in. Look at the side of the radio and use a flat head screwdriver to press on the brass “spring” very hard at the end closest to the fascia and it should release the key.

Thanks, I dropped the glovebox & was able to get the access I needed.
