how do i reset the service interval display thingy on my fabia elegance which is on fixed length service intervals without using vag-com or similar. i've done a search but i find lots of conflicting info on this.

i know that on the mk4/5 polo/lupo you just hold down the trip reset button then just switch on the ignition untill it goes off but thihs doesn't seem to work.

Else it's VAG-COM

- hold trip reset button in

- turn igntion on still holding button

- let button go twist to right

- press button again till oil appears

- twist right again

- turn igniton off

- job done

This is what I do when my 10k intervals come up. Worth writing down and keeping in your handbook. Alternatively those who are still in warranty, get your ar5e down for a service.

yeah i've just serviced it and changed the clutch at the same time because it was getting a bit rough. funny how the bloke at sparshatts told me not to buy a sachs clutch kit 'because they are rubbish' his words not mine. well when i removed the genuine clutch (with the skoda part number on it) it also had a sachs part number on it. and it was half the price. OK mini rant over!!
