going looking at a 2015 Octavia with 100k miles on the clock.

I have an OBD scanner I purchased for 30euro from LIDL/ALDI a few years ago. Will I be able to use it with the Octavia to see is mileage genuine or anything interesting. Is it even compatible with an Octavia.

Unless the scanner is a VW/Audi/Skoda/SEAT (VAG) specific one, which for 30 euro is unlikely. Then no, you'll not see any data beyond the standard OBDII specfication.

It would require a more specialised tool such as VCDS/OBDEleven.

If you are in the UK, you can just check out it's MOT history and look for discrepancies. I'm not sure if you can/how to retrieve annual inspection mileage for other European countries.

You can read the gearbox mileage on obd eleven. If it’s been clocked it’ll show original gearbox mileage

Its a UK car, is it possible to see the mileage which was recorded at NCT online somewhere
