No, it is not necessary.

You have to lower the storage box in front of the passenger side, the filter is behind it.

Same way like in Fabia mk4.

In my posting of 26 April 2024 in this earlier BRISKODA forum topic I described how to fully lower the glove-box of a Fabia Mk4 to gain access to the cabin pollen filter.
