LOWERING THE 3V5 SKODA SUPERB

Featured Replies

Hello,

I want to lower my car with some sport spring and shock absorbers, i want to lower it with something about 40/30 mm 30/30mm

But here comes the problem, i run 235/40 r19 wheels, my concern is that the wheels will rub against the fenders.

Is there anyone who can answer my problem? It will rub? Anyone has lowerd it as much and runs same or almost the same size?

Thanks

No it won't rub.

Even with wider 245/40r19 tyres, which many of us switch to.

Add 10-15mm spacers n it still won't rub.

U'll have no issues whatsoever.

This was mine before - lowered 25mm, 245/40r19 tyres, 12mm front + 10mm spacers.

Following on from JRRS’ points, it won’t rub because the wheels are already inside the wheel arch and when the suspension compresses, the wheels curve inwards rather than straight up. Even with wider tyres and spacers as suggested there’ll still be sufficient clearance.

The Superb has a naturally tucked setup. Look from behind and you can see the wheels sit in-board compared to the body.

Mine sits about 30mm lower and is absolutely fine too. You could always swap to 235/35. Makes the speedo over-read by an extra 1-2mph (but that’s a safer misread) but the car sits lower but gives a little more arch gap. But you really don’t need to do that at all.
