Battery

Featured Replies

I purchased a new Octavia vRS in January, and I tried to start it up and the battery is completely dead. Has anyone else had the same issue?

I’m calling out the RAC tomorrow and will hopefully have a solution.

On the hybrids there is a known problem with the 12V battery not being charged when only short drives in electric only mode are made - is yours a hybrid or fully ICE?

Mine died too, car was only a few months old, replaced but no warning signs until it died on me.

When you say replaced? What did they replace?

When you get a fresh battery, also get hold of a smart charger to keep it trickle charged if your driving is infrequent or mostly short distances. Depleted 12v batteries are not uncommon in these cars, they soak up a LOT of electricity and the alternator needs help if the car is to be left standing around. It's not unique to Skoda either, or hybrids. Many modern makes including ICE models are in the same boat.
