Karoq front indicator drivers side

Featured Replies

Well that’s an unpleasant shock ! Front RHS indicator not working, repair needs whole light unit £ 948 inc fitting. 😲

☹️

Have similar problem
22' SE L (facelift), erratic flickering front RH. Diagnostics checked via ODIS. Active fault logged at central electrics for M7 RHF turn signal short circuit.
Result - possible fault with A28 output module or LED light.
First step replace the A28 module and retest.
If this will not sort it out, full light assembly replacement...

The claim:

We're moving to LED because they will outlast the vehicle.

The reality:

Well they would if we didn't install the cheapest, lowest quality garbage we can get our hands on, to hopefully limp through the warranty period...

This just happened to my 22 Karoq SE L as well, but it is the front left side. Im one week away from the MOT finishing so I had many calls today to try and get this sorted.

Mine was 10 months out of warrenty 😕

Mine has been out of warranty for 1 year. I feel that this may be an issue with early versions of the light. Bit disappointed in Skoda really...

Disappointed, yes indeed, I didn’t take out the warranty when it was 3 years old because I’m a low mileage user 19k in 4 years !

However, I have taken the warranty deal with Skoda now as I think it is a good deal now much better than it was, ie, 2 services, 2 Mot’s, breakdown in europe & uk plus 2 years warranty 👍.

Good idea. Im going to do the same!

Update, the light seemed to start working by itself and has been fine since. But today the right indicator showed a similar error, but stopped after 10 mins. I think there must be a connection issue to the central ECU. I'll need to investigate.

Hi Paco, I have just got the same problem with by 2022 facelift. How did you get on? Was it a full replacement of the headlight unit? I bought an extra years warranty when I bought the vehicle new, now 6 months out of warranty. Seems ridiculous that it will cost a grand when in the past we would have popped down to halfords for a £5 bulb. Seems quite a few people are having the same problem. Sounds like a bad batch to me.

So I had to get a complete replacement of the unit. Definitely a bad batch but when I called skoda multiple times they said that as it was outside of warranty there was nothing they could do and there were too few incidents to consider a recall. They really weren't helpful. As a diagnostic test I got someone to check if this was a wiring/ecu issue, but that was all fine and the Turing signal came thru fine. It was the LED strip in the unit that had failed.

Thanks Zanpy01, It does seem crazy that it costs customers so much. Did you go to skoda for the replacement, an independent or do it yourself?

I will try and have a go with contacting skoda, but I am preparing myself for the worst.

So I got a replacement from ebay for about £350 plus import fee of £80. It was from Poland. If you do this make sure you one with all the attachment points intact. Many are from crashes and so have broken bits. And get one from a recent year, avoid anything from 2022 or 2023 just incase it hase the same defect. I tried fitting myself but chickened out so I got a local garage to fit it for £130. In total, it was a lot but much less than the original quote from Skoda.

Thank you. This is really good information. I noticed that the one sticker in mine has a made in Poland on it.

Thanks again.
