2016 Superb 2.0Tdi burning oil

Featured Replies

I have a Superb 2.0Tdi (manufactured 2016) and it’s loosing oil. Have taken it to an engine specialist who investigated crankcase pressure and replaced PCV valve, but it’s still loosing oil slowly (not enough to fail MOT emissions). Lambda sensor and low oil pressure sensor are giving warnings/ error codes. Car has 104k miles. It’s still running nicely. Wondering has anyone else had similar issues with similar warnings and how did you solve it?

Welcome to the forum. There have been a few with issues. ............

A friend of mine puts a litre of oil into his TDI vRS every 1,000 miles, and I've heard of much worse. His has just clicked over 140,000 miles and has been drinking oil since he got it at 40k.

It's odd how some engines use oil and some don't, with greatly varying degrees of oil consumption.

I've been checking the oil level on my 2.0TDI more regularly lately, not because it's using oil, but because it isn't! (just making sure).

The more miles I put on it the less it uses, now 3 1/5 years old just coming up to 124k, but it does have an easy life sitting on the motorway at 70mph (1600rpm) for mile after mile. An added bonus this morning was I covered 225 miles with an average consumption of 74.3mpg.

Hi,

Mine has the same issue.

When you say mechanic replaced the pcv valve, was it with one of them after market kits,if so it wont fix your problem as I learned the hard way.

What you really need to replace is the rocker cover which has the pcv valve built in, cant be replaced separately.

Also go for a good quality rocker cover and not a cheapy Chinese one.
