Newbie VRs question ( 245 )

Featured Replies

New owner of a VRs 245 -new to Skoda and VAG… anyone tel me what the noise is- after driving and locking , it sounds like a mechanical clicking sound a bit like central locking 3-4 times but under bonnet possible a valve opening and closing- excuse my lack of knowledge

This is the noise - happens only after driving one cars stationary and locked

I can't tell.

All i can say is that my 220 tsi doesn't do that.

It’s booked in at dealers - amongst other minor issues like no heat from blowers

Yeah... that's not right. No heat from the blowers also isn't a minor issue - sounds like that could be a blocked matrix, which will need replacing!

Only had it 6 days so going to dealership tomorrow-

Annoyed that this was sold as an “approved” Škoda

Also has some strange paint issue with a grainy sheen that isn’t a respray job but still should have been picked up.

Appreciate the info though

Is the car under warranty?

6 days!!! take it back abd have them fix everything or refund

Skoda Darlington - heading there today !

Earlier Noise apparently throttle body reset - but still unsure-

Heaters - need doing

Rear wash needs doing

General overall paint work needs attention - sandy texture over parts of car

Engine oil temp running at 100-

And the bloody augmented noise in sport rattle in speaker needs gone.

A few scrapes I can deal with on alloys etc

Other than that! -

They either fix all or it’s returned under 14 day guarantee (- also has a years warranty apparently)

Will keep updated as think I’ll be palmed off …

Only Normal thing here is 100 degrés celcius oil température

If you search on this forum you might find the story of my car. I was sold a Leon FR by a SEAT/Skoda/Cupra dealer, that turned out to have been in a smash, and had welding and all sorts. After nearly two years of ownership they, luckily, had liability (that I could prove), so took the car back. They offered me several thousand over what I initially paid for the car, and then gave me any car I wanted for cost.

All in all I was rather lucky to have been sold a lemon, and to have dealt with the sales manager (horrendous service department, great sales team and amazing parts department), as something like an Octavia vRS wasn’t even on my radar as attainable.

Main dealers don’t mean anything these days - it just gives you someone to shout out. You best believe when buying it, I checked every last inch.

There’s plenty of these cars out there. If you have a bad feeling, or lots of issues, that’s enough. It sounds like it hasn’t been looked after very well, and it hasn’t been prepped for sale. I would get your money back and give it to another Skoda garage. If it’s the right car for you then don’t be dissuaded - my 245 quite literally hasn’t put a foot wrong! Some cars are just lemons.

It’s gone back - they couldn’t ( or wouldn’t) give an explanation for the paint work issue - so be aware it’s probably going back on sale

Once you have your money back, sharing the VRM might be appreciated. I feel terrible for the person that bought my Leon, £10 part-worns still on all corners.

Be cautious of looking to buy from VERTU dealership the car I have rejected is :

White … (dodgy paint job)

VRS 245

NA68 LGJ

Sure it’s a great car but too many issues for an approved used.

Hopefully someone will appreciate it.
