Hi, new Fabia owner here.

My radio has Smartlink enabled, but my phone (Samsung Galaxy S22+) does not connect at all.

There is a thread on this forum which suggests that updating the software to the 1800 version, but I'm not sure how to complete the update.

Is there somewhere to download the software, and do I put it on an SD card and put it in the slot in the glovebox?

The 1800 came from this thread, though I guess it is a different unit.

I downloaded the folder you sent, unzipped it, and put in on a empty formatted SD card.

When I put it in the car I get the message;

ERROR: VARIANT CONFLICT

MEDIUM: DEVICE DOESNT SUPPORT THIS                 

(MAIN UNIT: VARIANT)

Do you know what causes this?

I have done some research - I used mib-helper.com to put in my current software version; MST2_EU_SK_ZRP0245T

It says

Does this mean I am on the most current firmware and I cannot update to the 0253 version which you provided @pab567 ?

I can see I sent you link to SEAT version instead of SKODA, sorry. have just resent the right one MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0253T.

Of course you can upgrade to , you entered your train incorrectly (MST2_EU_SK_ZRP0245T, the right one is MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0245T):

On the mib-helper website it says the latest possible firmware update is 0480, is it worth updating to that one rather than 0253?

It's possible but it requires unit to be patched first, also the metainfo2.txt file must be modified. Is it worth? There are no new features, just new skins.

Yes, you go directly from 253T to 480T now. Just keep in mind metainfo2.txt from 480T must be modified to (check for "RequiredVersion" tags and change non-zero values to 0.

I already patched SWDL and modified the RequiredVersion values in metainfo2.txt to 0, but when I try to install the firmware from SWDL through Test Mode, it still says that the current software version is too old. I’m attaching a screenshot.

@pab567 I only modified the two RequiredVersion entries and changed them to 0. I did not modify the RequiredVersionOfDM values.

There’s something strange going on because most of the packages show as N/A and only inic is available for update. cpu is also showing as N/A, together with main, mapupdate, personalpoi, etc.

Does this mean 253T is too old and I need to flash an intermediate firmware before 480T?

Also, during the update, should I untick/disable the esd_sec package to keep the toolbox and patches?
