Recirculating Button not working

Featured Replies

Have come to use the A/C for the first time this past week and noticed that pressing the button for the recirculating air doesn’t appear to work.

Button presses but nothing happens it doesn’t light up and stays off

Also through the media center doesn’t do anything, wondering if anyone has come across this before? Or is it a trip to Skoda?

Yes. Mine was stuck. The flap is above the pollen filter above the glove box. You can try moving the flap with your fingers.

But first try a recalibration. You can do it with carscanner or by holding AC and front vent button for a few seconds until the lights start flashing.

If not then it will be the actuator. I had to change the one for the main diverter. £10 from Amazon for a non genuine. And about 20 Mins to change.

It would appear I have a fault with the flap, will try and see if I can move it

The calibration thing sorted my stick recirc flap. This is just above the pollen filter so sometimes detritus on the filter can get stuck in it. I think mine might have been the extra wiring from the reversing camera fouling it too.

But could be a failed actuator. Not expensive and pretty easy to change.

Can't feel any of the wiring being in the way, I have found the unit but tried to move the wheels by hand and they are stuck fast so think the unit might of gone.

Some are on a worm gear so you won’t be able to move them if the actuator isn’t trying to move them too.

If you carefully remove pollen filter you can see the flap at the back of it. It’s recommended to slip a bit of cardboard beneath filter to catch any crud that is sitting on top of filter otherwise it goes into the fan.

Or just take it to dealer If it’s still under warranty!

I have been able to get the unit out and then tried all the cables moved and it still doesn't work, I might try the reset but it is booked in with the dealer for the week after next

If it’s got warranty and the warranty covers it the it’s 100% back to the dealer job.

Yup, the extended warranty covers it. I have a hire car also, a newer Superb

Also noticed that I appear to get warm air blowing now when on LO setting for air temp, so have updated the work log for next week

Sounds the the actuator for the temperature control isn’t working either. With the car up to temp, If you set it to coldest then slowly increase temp by 2 degrees every few seconds until hi does the temp increase at all. If it does then it may be that the aircon needs degassing rather than a diverter issue.
