Featured Replies

Hi All

Just checked Skoda recall website to check and my 2023 is showing please contact your service provider

Just wondering if any one knows what latest recall is ? Only checked a few months ago and there were none so must be recent

Btw I have contacted Skoda dealer as car is already booked in for a service so was told it would be checked then but no idea what it is ?

Cheers Steve

I assume you are using this Skoda recall campaign link

If a VIN-code check indicates that there's a recall campaign for a car, I don't think there is any way for the car owner to find out what the recall relates to. It may also be the case that a Skoda dealership won't have that information to hand either until the car is connected to their system.

Yep that's how I checked

Skoda dealer said will check and resolve when next in for service in a few weeks time

I just thought recall details were normally stated when you check

Regards Steve

Just checked the Skoda recall website and it tells me to contact the authorized dealer - obviously because there is something regarding this particular car.

I contacted them by phone but they assured me that there is no recall for my chassis number and to ignore it....

I guess there is nothing else I can do.

For the modern cars the Safety Critical Air Bag Recall should mean the Registered Owners of affected vehicles received a Letter, a phone call if their number is on the Dealers or Skoda UK,s system and The Service Desk at dealers should know when asked. Other Service Campaign stuff is another matter. Skoda often act like SKODA SECRET SERVICE, dont tell others including owners they will expect to get booked in.

It's perhaps worth observing that the "Other recall campaigns" application on the Skoda Recall Campaigns website needs a car's VIN-code to be 100%-accurately entered for a valid response to be obtained.

I correctly entered the VIN-code of my Fabia Mk4 (build-date 2024-01-16) and received the following response

Dear customer,
No relevant recall campaigns have been launched by Škoda for the entered VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I then changed the VIN-code's final digit and the response was

Please contact your authorized service partner.

There is a basic check that the VIN-code comprises 17 characters, but that's it - if just one character anywhere in the code is entered wrongly, the above "Please contact..." message will almost certainly appear.

The format of a Skoda VIN-code is explained here

https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/skoda-world/what-can-vin-codes-tell-you/

(The possibility exists that incorrectly entering a car's VIN-code might cause that code to be accepted as valid by the application and result in the "No relevant recall campaigns..." message being produced - however, the chances of that happening will be pretty small.)
