How Tell If Scala has Wireless AA Capability?

Featured Replies

My better half has a 2022 Scala with the Bolero infotainment (sw 1760).

We've been using Android Auto via a dongle but this has become very flakey of late.

How can I tell if the car has an (unactivated) AA wireless capability such that I could pay a dealer to activate it?

Suggest contacting a dealer to ask, giving them the VIN of the vehicle.
But I've not heard of the option of activating AA - either the car has it or it doesn't.
My Fabia didn't have wireless AA, so I bought AAWireless, which worked perfectly.

I've read of an €80 option on these forums that only the dealer can activate.....

OK thanks. I'll not waste time worrying about that then.

The Android Auto wireless system can be activated on any infotainment system—Swing, Bolero, or Amundsen—provided that this option was included by the manufacturer. If this option was not included at the factory, activation is not possible, as it is linked to the car's VIN.

Therefore back to my original question: Is there a way of telling from the VIN or do I just have to ask a dealer to check?

Yes, you can check this using the VIN.

How would I do this please?

Using the ODIS or ETKA software. This can be done at any Skoda service center.

CarPlay and Android Auto require FEC and SWAP activation. For wireless connectivity, this is only possible with Amundsen (Wi-Fi), using the AAW2+ dongle or Carlinkit with a cable for other devices. Press and hold the menu button for 5 seconds to access the engineer menu and view the valid FEC codes.
