Major service

Featured Replies

Hi, my timing belt service is due.

Last time I had it done as an aside when my water pump/thermostat failed. Work was satisfactory but they didn't give it a wash as part of the job. That was in Lincoln when I worked there. My closest Skoda gatage also didn't do a decent job on my Octavia when I had it. So ive had various experiences through out my time and I can't afford a botched job cos I'm needing it for a holiday in a few weeks. I was thinking of trying Sheffield, Hillsborough and wondered if anyone on here had any reviews or suggestions?

Ta.

I last used Rainworth (when they were named Bickertons) at Hillsborough about 7 years ago when I had a service plan and wouldn't bother with them again.

I use an independent at the back of Meadowhall named Auto Tecnic and they have looked after three of my cars for about 16 years now. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

How do you judge that the timing belt is due?

VW group in UK dropped their 5 year interval in 2023, to align with recommendations for everywhere else.

Another one here that wouldn't use Rainworth or Vertu... I use autohaus Dolby down near Sheffield Arena now or The Garage in town
