Bonjour de la Suisse !

Bonjour à tous!

I'm Xavier from Switzerland and a brand-new member of the Skoda world.

A few days ago, I bought a beautiful 2012 Skoda Superb Mk2 Laurin & Klement 2.0 TDI 170 PS. The car is in remarkably good condition, both inside and out, and the engine runs great. With only 245,000 km on the clock, it's barely broken in... right? 😄

I'm an amateur mechanic and long-time BMW enthusiast. Over the years I've tackled quite a few jobs myself, including timing chain replacement on BMW engines, suspension work, diagnostics, and general maintenance.

Diesel engines, however, are relatively new territory for me. EGR valves, DPFs, regenerations, differential pressure sensors... it's a whole new world compared to the petrol BMWs I'm used to. Thankfully, after reading this forum for a while, I'm sure I'll learn a lot from the experienced members here.

My first job on the Superb will be an easy one: replacing the glow plugs. Cylinder #4 is currently showing a fault, so that's where I'll start.

Looking forward to learning from you all and sharing my experience with the car.

See you around!

Xavier
