Replaced electric tailgate motors but it won't open

This is now the second time tailgate motor broke on my 2014 Combi. On the first time they were replaced in a dealership, and on the second time I replaced them with Deffner parts. They only lasted less than 4 years, and now I bought new ones from ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/206255408562

I just replaced the motors. Now the boot door stays open again, however it won't open nor close by the motor. The four cables should have been installed correctly. When I press the open/close button, the only result is just three quick beeps. I opened the door wide open and kept the close button down for a few seconds and the same beeps were heard, but that didn't help either.

Anything else I could try or do I need to find VCDS?
