Also i thought that for optimum performance you should use b8 shocks with the pro kit because the oe-spec shocks would wear out faster, thus the use of shorter shocks like the b8's.

I selected these after going thru the Octavia VRS forums on FB and this was a popular choice. Firmer but bearable I would say. H+R and Eibach Pro were the most common springs alongside OE shocks, although the H+Rs seemingly do go a bit lower (especially at the rear) and are firmer than the Pro's.
