Well, actually the tidier attempt I've seen uses white hoses instead of black, but they haven't made such a mess of the mounting through the front bumper...

Actually, the (ex-)owner of the white hose one now has an entirely white car...

The bell is'nt there to straighten the airflow' date=' just increase airflow. Bell mouth allows more airflow into the pipe. Jet engine air intake cowls is another example. Remember seeing the development program of Thrust SSC when they did the engine trials? (had to add and increase bell mouth to allow enough airflow into the engine)

Mesh etc on the MAF's straighten the airflow downstream for ease of laminar flow from which to measure.

Bigger is better for the VRs but still radiused for best airflow.

Good luck tho. Just thinking you/others should know what function this part plays in the induction tract.

Thanks for the info bill. What happens when you fit an induction kit though, as as the air box is removed etc along with the trumpet pipe etc?

Does the induction kit compensate for this in its design?
