Dashboard warning lights

Featured Replies

All my dashboard warning lights come on intermittently especially when on a long journey. Went into garage who cleared faults but couldn’t identify what caused them. Just back from a long drive and they came back on. Any ideas on what might be the cause so I can advise the garage were to look first thanks.

Could be a voltage drop. Whats the condition of battery and also is alternator charging ok. On the other hand my octavia had random warning lights appear some bright and others dim. Cluster needed connector cleaned and reseated. Were there actual fault codes stored to match warnings?

Battery is new 2 year ago.

Abs

Intermittent o/s/r wheel speed sensor range/performance

Intermittent n/s/r wheel speed sensor, magnetic field low.

Intermittent EPB control unit wheel speed sensor implausible.

Engine

Sporadic database error value received.

You have a dying ABS sensor at the back. Maybe two. Scanning with a decent tool will help identify which one.

I agree could also be a build up of dirt/rust on sensor tip. Doubt its wiring as both seem to be giving trouble. I would change them. I used Febi ones on my octavia and they werent expensive. Had to change them due to replacing wheel bearigs and broke senors trying to remove them No problems so far. Think from memory they were around £12 each
