bluetooth Handsfree

Featured Replies

Can anyone please recommend a decent bluetooth handsfree kit. I got one fitted at Halfords as per best buy Auto Express but electrical noise was so bad that after four repeat visits to Halfords and them replacing various bits and me suggesting they shield the mic and cable it is as bad. As a result I got them to pull it out today and I now need something decent.

Thanks for any help.

I have a sony ericsson one that I like.

You will pay a lot more for a decent fitted kit.

Best value and probably one of the best kits out is the Sony Ericsson Hcb 700, easily as good as the Nokia 616. It's currently

Avoid the Parrot CK3200. .

What kinda problems had you ?

Yeah the Parrot CK-3200 is a bit buggy and once again Parrott have shot themselves in the foot by developing a kit that is so functional that getting it to operate fully with all current mobile phones is impossible although you can be sure future firware upgrades will address this.

If you can live without the colour display, you can pick up the previous generation model (CK-3100) for about £80 online and have it fitted for around £50. It takes a bit of fiddling with the controls to get the volume levels right etc but it's compatible with most phones and very advanced in its funtionality.

BTW I have posted a guide on fitting a CK-3100 somewhere on here if you want to have a go yourself.

I have found the voice tags to be a bit contrary at times...not picking up the name. Could this be due to the volume levels ?

Yeah you have to be pretty clear and turn the mic vol up a bit. i found it helped if i set up the voice tags whilst driving so the background noise of car was there just like it would be when I actually use the voice tags. I think you can set it to use the phones own voice tags too. maybe that might help

got the sony kit for about £100 of some online phonesforyoulinkwarehouse type place. Fitted it myself in about 3hrs including wiring into stereo. Works very good and I would defo recommend it

Assuming you have a Nokia phone, I would recommend a Nokia Ck-7w. Easy to fit and nice and clear at high speed. I was going the parrot way with the extra functionality until someone on this forum said the sound quality was poor.

What kinda problems had you ?

Sync problems, crashing/freezing, no power up, pairing issues... Several different phones have all been the same and it's running the latest firmware.

Kit was proffesionally fitted and as I am on my third one I can only presume it's the kit.

Lady who owned the car before me had a Sony HCB-30 fitted. Really impressed at how clear it is, no electrical noise when using it and very easy to use :D

Ran one of these for over two years. I completely agree, it was also reliable.

I used to have a Sony Ericsson HCB-300 which i'll be installing in SWMBOS car soon. It was a real improvement over the HCB-30 which my mate had and the sound quality admittedly is a bit better than the Parrot CK-3100 too but when I got my new car I was willing to accept this for the added functionality of the CK-3100. There is nothing else on the market that does what the Parrot CK-3100 & 3200 do so it's kinda hard to draw fair comparisons.
