All In - anyone cancelled shortly after having a service, did you have to pay extra?

Featured Replies

As title, really - did you get asked to cover the service cost, or did Skoda Financial Services just let you cancel?

I think you have to pay the full balance if you want to cancel.

If you are paying Monthly, it would be reasonable for them to ask for any money needed to make up the difference between how much had been paid and the service costs received.

Well, no you don't. I cancelled the one on our Karoq after 5mths so as to get the cheaper rate in Black Friday offer. I hadn't used any of the elements of the plan.

Not only did I not have to pay any extra, after reading of someone who got a refund, I pushed and with much grumpiness they refunded me the 5mths I'd paid as goodwill.

Only issue I had is they didn't link the two plans together so it looked like there'd been a 5 mths gap in warranty cover. This meant that the plan showed a 30 day waiting period for the warranty to start. They confirmed to me in email that this was wrong and they would waive it.

Yes, that would be reasonable, but do they actually do it?

Even if they do, if they charge it at the actual cost to VWFS that's going to be way less than the dealers retail price so it would still be a good deal. But unless someone has been through this, it's unknown - hence my question.

Found a post on one of the Tiguan forums where a poster was doing a lot of miles and needed two services per year.

He bought All In at £29/mth during a discount period, had two services, then cancelled it after a year - had to pay a £39.32 settlement fee.

So he got a minor and major service and MOT for just under £400 - way cheaper than it would have been paying normal dealer retail prices.

I'm pretty miffed with our dealer - they were absolutely adamant that All In couldn't be taken out and used to pay for the service and MOT just before the car turns 3, yet Tiguan owners are reported their dealers could do it by setting up All In on the day the car was serviced.

I tried buying the Ain1 plan online in the 30 days before my Karoq was 3 years old but it wasn’t possible, my dealer tried on their system and they couldn’t set it up in advance either. Then a couple of days before the end of the 3rd year it became possible. I’d already had my Karoq MOT’d separately. I think Skoda are missing a trick here the All-in plan should include the first MOT when taken out in the 30 days before the end if the 3rd year.

I wonder if it's because the all in plan includes warranty so cannot be started until the warranty runs out?
