How do i confirm this is definitely the correct part for my 2018 octavia vrs 184bhp.

Ive read there are different matrix with differen shapes etc

Also is this a decent part as quite reasonably priced

Hi.

I believe there are two different makers of the original cooling system that these cars left the factory, Valeo or Denso.

Other makers can of course make parts to these systems according to the specs, but i believe that you cant mix Valeo and Denso system parts together.

You should go to skoda-parts.com and make an account where you can enter your own cars VIN-number to check which parts are the correct ones for your car. I am using this method for sourcing spareparts for my mk3 Octavia and it works great.

I think i just need to remove gloebox and side trim and will give me a good look at the matrix pipes etc, possibly get valeo or denso with part number maybe

Yup - as previously stated - there are 2 different manufacturers for the heating system. Denso and Valeo and they're not interchangeable. They've got completely different fittings. The simplest way to tell which system you have is to remove the glovebox and take a look at the plastic cover of your pollen filter. If it's the original cover it should have either the word Denso or Valeo brand moulded on it. Failing that look underneath your heater blower motor and there should be a sticker stating the make of it.
