1.2 2014 Rapid steering light

Featured Replies

Good morning all. I have recently had the Steering amber warning come up on the dash. I also noticed in a place that I had parked a small drop of fluid on the ground. I assumed it was from another vehicle.I now suspect it is from the steering system .The reservoir is under the battery housing. If I disconnect and remove the battery will I lose all info already in the system. Also,if I am luck enough to find it is a hose leak has anyone changed one of these and if so any advice please. Many thanks in advance, Graham

Before trying to access the reservoir, inspect the gaiters on the tie-rods. Fluid leak might result in one of those filling with PAS fluid and leaking past the clip.

If no sign there, then

access to the pipework may be best via wheel and arch liner removal rather than from above reservoir.

If Rapid is like Fabia, the only thing you'll see from above is the reservoir cap poking up through a hole in the chassis leg. Good for topping up, but not fault finding.
