vRS EGR Valve

Featured Replies

I've noticed my vRS has a few flat spots and hesitations since I got it, and have had it with Skoda 4 or 5 times to try and get it sorted, but they keep telling me that my car is perfect and try to make me sound stupid when I tell them it isn't!!!

I've obviously got a little ****ed off with them so took it to a local mechanic who has all the diagnostic equipment (and more importantly knows how to use it!!!). He plugged it in and within 2 minutes he was able to tell me that my EGR valve is at fault! We then disconnected it, and the car has been going a lot better since!

So I called in with my Skoda dealer this morning and they are still adamant that there is nothing wrong with it, and won't fix it, time to change dealers me thinks!!!:thumbdwn:

I was just wondering if this was a common vRS fault, or am I just unlucky??

I should have said that mine is a 2004 model if that makes any difference?!!!

Sounds like a 2006 model comes with 2 year's wear for free!

Probably not. This thread indicates that the problem is EGR related. Perhaps a note to Skoda CS might be in order

I'll try a differnt dealer first but the more I think about it, the car would probably be better off without the EGR valve, I know my old 306 went a lot better without it!!!

I'm guessing the EGR valve problem would also explain why the car is a bit on the smokey side???

Have a search :D Quite a few older Fabia's with EGR faults :D

Might just need a clean mate.

EGR? ;)

Chuck it over the fence! Cause more trouble than they're worth in my opinion.
