Stream mp3 problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just got a new octavia with radio cd stream.

The sales guy told me it should read mp3 but when I put in a mp3 cd it displays cd-rom and then throws the disc out.

Can somebody help me out?

Thanks

When was the car manufactured? If it was before week 22 then chances are it wont play mp3s

Are you trying it in the changer or head unit? I dont think the changer recognises mp3's.

Are you using a re-writable cd? Not sure it will work.

What format is the disc you have the mp3's on? Any mp3 compatible head unit i have used only recognises mp3's written to a disc as data but that may differ with the stream. I know that Nero for example can write an mp3 audio disc. Maybe you need to try that.

In any case i'm sure someone with an audience HU can help as the disc format will be the same.

Does the radio actually say 'Stream MP3' on it or does it just say 'Stream'?

I picked my car up a couple of weeks ago and it says 'Stream MP3' - seems to work fine.

It's been manufactured before week 22. I got told the same thing (mp3's would play) but it ain't true! Still using my trusty Audia-X FM transmitter with my mp3 player.
