Leaking Oil..Is it Normal...??????

Featured Replies

I have a Furbie vRS and if you look into the Engine bay with the engine cover removed there is quite a large plastic pipe that looks like it comes from the turbo. It is next to the radiator header tank [pink liquid] it then joins a rubber pipe at a 90 degree right angle. This pipe is fastened together with a spring like clip where the 2 pipes meet. If you put your fingers on the underside of this join/clip there is a covering of black oil. Is this the norm or does it need looking at?.......The car runs fine.................Cheers Andy..

An ammount of oil is perfectly normal. The snap fix pipes tend to relax when there is no boost in the system so a little oil may well seep out.

Just check its clipped in home.

mm they're all like that... same with mine... insignificant ammout that you can see, I've never had to top mine up :)

Is it Engine oil or oil from else where??............. [ or is it a silly question]..:o

there's always a bit of oil running around that system... when people do intercooler changes and they find oil in it they get shocked, it's supposed to be that way though, don't know exactly why, but I'm sure Lummox could shed light on the issue ;)

Searchy search search - he answered this for me a while back.

Apparently it's from the crankcase breather system
