Screenwash tank

Featured Replies

Quick question - is the New Octy vRS supposed to have one of those filter things you can pop off at the mouth of the screenwash filler? The Fabia had one, but my Octy doesn't seem to.

Do you mean the cap? if so - yes it should have one:confused:

No - not the blue cap that covers the tank.

The Fabia used to have the cap (obviously), but also a pop-in filter thing to catch any crud you might have in your water, but let the water through. You can take it out can clean it.

Just reading through the manual last night, it refers to the filter in the Octy, but mine doesn't have one (but it's got the cap).

I would have thought it should have one. Talk to the dealer

oh right i see! no - mine hasnt got one of those either.....

I've got Xenon lights on mine, and the manual says you get a 5.5 litre screenwash tank with Xenons, so didn't know if this had something to do with it...

Does anyone know for sure if it's supposed to have one?

IIRC there's only 2 sizes of tank with the 5.5 litre version being the larger. It's installed on all cars with headlight washers, not just cars with xenons fitted.

My tank doesn't have the filter either.

Well, so far, nobody's said they've got it, so it sounds like it's not supposed to be there! Strange, since I thought it was a good idea.

Mine has not got one in view, thats not to say there's not something in the neck to filter muck out though, I would be surprised if there was not "something".

But then you'd think that it would be easily removable to get the muck out, but it doesn't look like it!

Mine also hasn't one...that I can see, unless it's inline somewhere.

There's probably one on the pump intake in the tank itself.

Another vote for "no filter at the filler cap".

Maybe you only get one if you buy a VW or an AUDI. :P

The Mk1 had one at the bottle opening ;) .

Yeah I know;) , I had one on mine and it did catch quite alot of crud.

Aye. As mentioned, the Fab had one, too, and the manual for the Octy refers to one.... Euro spec???

Mine doesn't have the filter either, at least i cannot see it. Have xenon lights and 5.5 l reservoir.

Ah, well. Looks like the manual's telling porky pies, then!

Guess it might not be in the UK spec. Shame, as it's quite useful.

Maybe they forgot to put them in the build  so nobody got one.

...or maybe it's a conspiracy by VW to defame the Skoda brand... ;-)

Euro spec with xenons, and no, I don't have one either.

So, they saved few cents on that filter alone.... ;)

No filter on mine (2006 1.9 elegance) but there is one on my Fab Vrs (2006)

How odd!
