Broken door bits and bobs

Featured Replies

A bit of advice needed here. Took my car in for a few warranty repairs and having good service from the nice peep's at Bickerton. But, having a good clean today I noticed that the door handle on the drivers door is damaged. It must have been that way since I picked it up as I had noticed a small notch ages ago, but never investigated.

It looks like a screwdriver has been used to take off the panel around the window switches and has damaged both the cover and the main part of the handle too.

Obviously, if I mention this to them now they are more than likely going to turn around and say I have done this, any advice on how to go about complaining about this?

I am going to mention it to them when it goes in for the rest of the repairs carried out early next week, but I fear they arn't going to be interested. :(

How bad is it? I know its nice to strive for perfection, but is it definately something you would like them to replace if you've only just noticed it?

If you would like it replaced, I reckon the best thing to do would be to ask them to come and look at it. Show them the damage and suggestively say, this looks like its been caused by a screwdriver, probably at the factory?

You could either go down the route of getting it sorted, or ask for a credit towards your next service.

Either way, it would be very wrong of them to assume that you had done the damage. Just let them know you only noticed it when giving the car a good clean.

Good luck.
