Help! How to sort this one?

Featured Replies

After months and months I thought today I would have my seat woes sorted.

To recap: One dealer made mess of sorting seat, new dealer took seat fixed but put wrong cover on.

Today I took the car in to have a new cover put on. Having got the car back the cover looked suspiciously dirty. I questioned this and they said it must of come out the packet like it. Having got home I've looked harder and smelt it and I believe they have simply swopped the seat back on my seat with another Vrs. There's too much dirt and too many marks. Think the sponge is soft too.

To say I'm angry about this is an understatement. I've spoken to Skoda customer services and they will tell me Monday if a new cover was ordered or not. I'm 100% sure that the answer will be no. The car is booked in again for next Saturday, where supposedly another cover will be fitted.

Now if I find out for certain that they have lied to me and swopped bits without my permission, what can I do? Most my current thoughts are not legal!

Any there any trustworthy Skoda dealers?!

sounds like you have been treated very badly by the stealer , especially if they have took a dirty cover off another car to put on your seat , i think it would of been easier for them to swop seats , maybe this is what has happened which makes the current situation even worse . i would kick up a stick with customer services saying you want a complete new seat or you will reject the car . but iirc that i think i said in your previous thread that if the seat cover that was fitted with the pocket in the wrong place was acceptable , i wouldn't bother going back to get another correct cover fitted , as you run the risk of getting another problem , i know its definetely wrong whats happened and you've obviously wanted it spot-on and correct ,which is your right , but i dont think i could of dealt with all the hassle you are going to have to go through to get it sorted again IMHO , anyway good luck at getting it sorted

was this a warranty repair job? or did you pay to have itr done??

if you've paid to have it done you've got rights under the sale of goods act.

This is a warrenty job.

I had a closer look at the seat and realised what they did. They have swopped the top part of the seat with that of another car. The fact they took me for a fool and thought I would not notice is beyond me, its filthy and I believe is from a smokers car as it smells a bit too.

I've been back to the dealer and told them I knew what they had done. At this point the (rather sheepish looking) mechanic admitted what they had done (this was the same mechanic who told me the seat cover came out the packet dirty). To say I'm less than pleased is an understatement.

They have promised a new seatcover and my original seat back fitted. The manager is on holiday, so I will have to wait and see what he has to say when he gets back on Wednesday. I've notified Skoda customer services and will be checking to make sure they do order a new cover.

If they cant get it right this time I'll have to go down the legal route. :(

Thanks for the support ric04vrs. If I'd know how much hassle it was going to be I'd never of bothered all those months back. But now its become a bit of a battle and I'm damned if I'm going to lose!

This is DISGRACEFUL SERVICE from this dealer!!!

Staight to the courts with this one, mate!
