Fabia**vRS** what should be the target price!!!

Featured Replies

I went and had a look at a Skoda Fabia today. Its the first time that I have actually seen one in the flesh. I was pleasently surprised, I really liked the look of it.

I swore that I would never own a Black car and again but when seeing the Black next to the Silver which was my original choice. I realised why so many of you have opted for the black. It also matches well with the interior well too.

I have booked a test drive for Monday. So I'm looking forward to that.

I asked the dealer, what kind of deal they are offering at the moment and he give me the old spiel "Well these cars are selling themselves at the moment"... yeah sure they are!!:finger:

So I have am going to visit the Maidstone and Gillingham Skoda garages and try to play them off of eachother.

What kind of deal should I realistically expect!!!

I have a part exchange and have already had good quotes online from Autofinders and Drive the deal, but want to go through a local dealer...

So realsitic prices,

Standard car with Metallic!!!

12 k for a new one? maybe a bit less...

About

About £500 off at a dealer. IMO you'd be better going through Drive the deal or Broadspeed

I have Part ex so drive the deal is no good.. I would rather do a part ex with a dealership!!!

Autofinders is offering me a good deal £11 700 with 6 cd autchanger metallic.

I'll take it for a test drive first and if he wants too much I'll go with Autofinders!!!

My dealer gave me 11.4% discount after walking in with a quote from drivethedeal. I didn't have a part exchange tho.

Today a dealer quoted me

It does not bother me in the slightest if the car is pre registered as long as its new and unused. I cant see the problem, it certainly will not depreciate the car when coming to sell. I must have bought and sold about 7 cars over the last 3-4 years and being a 2nd owner has never been an issue!!

Agreed, pre-registration in principle does not worry me either, but I think I might wait for 3-4 weeks to see if the prices for any '06' pre-registered cars drop even further once the '56' registrations are out.

The Target price is around

Get a free Glass's guide valuation of your P-ex from the Vauxhall site so you know what it's worth , get a bunch of print outs from car broker sites and then go and see your local dealers.

Be realistic about the condition of your car when you value it , and make sure you give it a thorough clean and polish before you go shopping so it looks as good as possible.

Make it clear that you aren't going to take a joke offer , but if they can do you a good price with sensible trade in you'll sign there and then.

I got top book trade in and a substantial discount on my new octavia

You could try via a broker and get a "trade bid" for your PX, the combination of the v low broker price plus the poor PX will often beat a dealer discount plus reasonable PX.

This is the option I took and the beauty is you can agree a deal and while you wait for your car to arrive bung your PX on Autotrader and try and better the trade bid.

My current motors a 1992 BMW 325i coupe and I would guess most stealers would not want to touch a car of this age or would only offer me peanuts, so I think I'll try for a private sale and then push for the best cash deal I can get on the vRs. I'm in no rush so hopefully prices for any pre-registered 06 cars will be even cheaper in a few weeks.

If you go to the Gillingham Dealer speak to Barry, his desk is behind the silver Oct'y Vrs, he's got black spikey hair. He tends to do a better deal than Paul.

Yeah Barry Crooks... thats who Im talking too. I don't generally have anything to do with Crooks but if he makes me an offer I can't refuse well.... he may just get a deal!!!!

Scottfree.

You have a pm

Just bought mine from a dealer brand new metallic and cd changer 11600, no px though. Email all the dealers within an hours drive telling what spec etc and see what comes back.

What is the list price of a solid red vehicle?

presumably any dealer would offer 10% discount for no part ex

Since reading this Forum I really fancy a Vrs and the secondhand prices of say a three year old vehicle seem far too high, (

I'm just buying a Fabia vRS from Sherlodge Garage in Gillingham. I've managed to screw them down quite hard. I'm getting over 7% off the price (including options), and if you order this month then I'd be surprised if you couldn't get the same.

I'm getting the vRS in black with cruise, and there's a part-ex.

The guys there seem a bit desperate to sell at the mo.

Edit: I'm also getting some fuel thrown in (not taken into account in the 7%+ fig above). :smrbow:

My wife's just ordered her new vRS from Robert Eardley in Crewe. She got the price down to
