Skoda 135 upgrades?

Featured Replies

alright. several friends and i want to participate in the Scumball 3000 next year. we have a car picked, a Skoda 135, and we quickly realised that driving with four people, baggage, and accessories in a car that has 54 hp will be nearly impossible if we want to drive on the motorway at all. so we need to uprate the engine's output a bit.

what we want to know is, are there any better engines to swap in?

What are our chances of Turbocharging it?

is there anything else we can do to make this car move faster?

thanks in advance for your help :)

135 ric? thats quite a rare motor. alledgely the polo/golf 1.4 motor is a relativley straight swap. seen several with alfa boxer engines in them and rx7 rotaries!

used to have a 1.3 estelle with single weber 40 hot cam and ported/flowed head, lumenition ignition and ashley gp a exhaust, dynoed at 85 bhp at the flywheel!

good luckon the trip!

can you tell me anything more about this swap? because there are a lot more parts available for VW golfs than Skoda 135s....

have a root around on tinternet for the conversion or perhaps contact the good guys at the skoda owners club, they may be able to point you in the right direction.

hey man!

ooh, you've got yourself a RiC there...does it still have the ingetion set up?

if it were a carb'd engine, there is the usual, carb, filter exhaust trip...but its not quite so easy with the RiC.

re: engine transplants, you can put Alfa Twinks in the back, or engines from a Favorit (but finding carb'd favorits is getting hard now).

have you tried driving it as standard? you'd be suprised how well they go...
