Getting Octavia vRS tracked

Featured Replies

I drove over a rock on the way to work this morning. About 3 inches high, 8 inches long. It caught the inside of my front left alloy. Was going about 40mph. No visible damage to tyre or outside of alloy and front bumper looks ok. Car drives ok too. But inside of alloy or undernerneath car could be damaged.

Don't have time today to make the 50mile round jouney trip to dealer. So thinking of going today to a local tyre speicalist 'Advance Tyres', to get the car tracked and underneath of car examined for damage. It hasn't been tracked in 10 months and I have taken 2 major hits on the road now. The problem is last time I brought it in, Advance did not have the tracking figures for my model so I went to the main dealer to get it done. Could ring dealer and get them to give me the figures which I could pass on to Advance. What you think ?

One other thing - car has nearly 10,000 miles up on it and is 18 months old. Had the 10,000 mile service done 9 months ago. Should have probably waited But I only do around 8000 miles a year. The dealer says I can leave it till 15k now. But the car will be more then 2yrs old then and I know you are supposed to get the thing serviced once a year at least. So should I get her serviced and I can I trust them to do a full service.

Thanks for the tech. data.

One question though - will the tyre kickers know which is the right one for the vRS. I assume it's the G85 sports suspension. Also, my vRS is a 02 model which came with 16" alloys from the factory. And I know the UK and all other models come with 17" alloys. Will this matter ?

Yep, yours is the sport suspension.

It's all about which way the wheels point, regardless of wheel/tyre size, so 16s won't be a problem, just use the sport suspension settings.

Thanks. Rang tyre centre and they said they will use these settings.

Hopefully no damage under the car or on the inside of the alloy.
