No Rear Speakers to an Octavia Classic!

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased an Octavia Classic and was shocked to find that there are no rear speakers. I enquired at both a local dealers and head office and was told it is not possible to add them as there is no kit upgrade. I would have to install a brand new system. If I found someone other than a Skoda garage to do the work it might interfere with the existing electronics.

Is this true??? Does anyone have any suggestions how I can install speakers in the rear without cost severasl hunderd

Is it a new or old shape octavia?

There isn't any cabling in place for them so you'll need to run some wires from the stereo to the back of the car but it's an easy job (assuming it's a Mk1 octavia) and won't cause problems with the rest of the car.

Thanks

It is the latest version. can this still be done?

Where abouts are you?

Its not just skodas without rear speakers on lesser models. I had a passat rental car in germany the other week, it to had no rear speakers but a pretty good HU.

I would say it should be possible on the new octavia.

its possible. just install a small amp somewhere in the car, and use that to drive the rear speakers. do you have an aftermarket HU?

i'm assuming if its a classic you've put a cd player or something in instead of the tape player?

 Woo! Finally another member round here! I'm a twickers lad!

It should just be a simple enough task of running some new cables to the back of the car and adding extra speakers.... my golf didnt have rear speakers and i've just added new rear ones so it is possible.
