Digital Compact Camera - Retail Therapy Request

Featured Replies

I'm tired.

I've had a very stressful 24 hours.

I've just dropped (ie thrown) my digital camera out of the window in frustration after one "card error" message too many.

So i need a new one. Quick.

Personally I like Nikon compacts...would be looking at an S6 for that budget...is v. light and takes SD cards too! :)

Rob.

I got a Canon Ixus 50 a few months ago, and really impressed with it.

Very small and takes some good pics I think.

A picture of it, and some of my initial attempts in this thread.

Paid just over

Shame it uses XD rather than SD, but the Fuji Z1 is a really nice mini digicam.

CASIO EXILIM EX-Z1000 Silver Digital Camera [10.1MP, 3x Optical Zoom]

Will be my next camera on an upgrade for a Casio Exilim 4MP Z4U, have been well impressed with the Exilim range over the years. Best price I've seen is around the £220 mark.

I'd suggest a rubber case. I should prevent damage if your camera gets dropped again

I got a Pentax Optio S5n.

I doubt it's the latest model now but Pentax always get fantastic reviews, I researched it quite heavily before I bought it and have always been impressed with the quality of build and pictures are fantastic too.

Nikon S6.........

Wowsers. It's tiny.

However, thats why i bought one.

Ta for all the suggestions.

I looked at the Casio EX-1000, but 10mega-pixels.....overkill for my humble requirements.
