Xenon's Standard?

Featured Replies

Quick Question...

Does the Fabia come with Xenons standard, if not are they worth getting?

cheers

Jim

Nope they are not standard and will cost you £500 as an option. As to whether they are worth it or not, it's very much up to the individual. I personally don't think it's worth it and would rather put the money towards leather interior.

1.No and..

2.apparently not.

Xenons look good and give better visibility, but its a lot of money for the actual benefit. I think the money can be better spend elsewhere. Fitting an aftermarket Jabba anti roll bar to improve handling for instance.

alright, nice one, cheers for the comments.

See if you can find a car to test drive fitted with Xenons and go out in the dark. Try a motorway or somewhere with road works and you will see a massive difference

I love mine to bits for various reasons. If you can afford them I would definately take them.

I've ordered mine with xennons as my brother had them on his S3. If you do alot of night driving on unlit roads then i'd go for them.

In urban areas, i can see the xenons not appearing any better, but in rural or unlit areas (As already said) they are in a league of their own.

I Would recommend them.

MPM :D

I've always found upgrading the bulbs in normal headlamps to be sufficient. If the xenons were considerably cheaper (ie. £100ish) then yes to me they'd be worth the upgrade, but at £500 I struggle to justify it as being money well spent.

Ive gone from a Fabia with xenons to my passat with standard headlights

OMG!!! I loved the xenons when i had them but you forget how good they are when you get used to them!! First night trip without and i was nearly missing turnings i take everyday just because i couldnt see anything!!

If you have the money dont even think twice about getting them. Im looking for HID kits as we speak.

Adam

Also bear in mind that apparently xenons use 30% less power than normal headlights.. which must be all important if you are buying a diesel :D

After having Xenons once you probably wont go back.. I won't anway.

Yes you can but generally they cost more than factory fit and can have level issues.

Not as costly as factory fit xenons but also not as good.

They are about

I got Xenons and they are great...if you are on a budget then suppose something else would prove better for you but if you can then go for it as they are excellent same as ESP a life saver!

I've had Xenon's and didn't notice much difference however this was on a Mini.

I must say the Xenon's do look cracking on the Furby (having seen Decron's) and if you don't go that route but want the Xenon look then Philips do some BlueVision bulbs. They were voted best Xenon effect bulbs, however they do have a blue hue to them when off and I've taken them out of my car (not even used). I felt they looked a bit ****-ish.

I perfer the clear bulb headlight look...

They are about £200 fom shops and cheaper ones on ebay. They dont have the motors to move them up and down nore the headlight washers obviously.

Id much rather have factory units (they look better too) but as ive bought a 2nd hand car without factoy units an HID kit is the next best thing.

I bought a HID conversion kit with 6000k bulbs and they are better than the xenons on Rebeccas (SWMBO) black VRS that were fitted as standard. They are brighter' date=' easy to fit and there are no problems with the level. £130 for the kit and worth every penny

Bought them from these guys when they had an advert on Ebay £105 plus £25 for postage and insurance.....

Well worth a go, superb quality kit I have to say, not cheap looking/feeling at all

I did a xenon conversion to my Fabia and let's put it this way - I've just ordered my new Octy with xenons. :)

Would never do without them, only let-down is xenon main beams seems to be still relatively rare. :(

Xenons also light up signposts like christmas trees, oh yeah and the markings on police cars...............

You can see them from miles away

Spend £500 on diesel instead. Mine have been adjusted finally but still wish I hadnt bothered.

they are excellent same as ESP a life saver!

A life saver? Get yourself on a skid pan - far more useful skill, cheaper than ESP and applicable to all cars you drive ;)

Chris

Spend

They do use less power' date=' but the extra weight of the HID system means it could be a bit of a false economy. Possibly. Maybe.

You can get blubs which approach the colour and intensity of HID systems but which use standard connections. I know that [url']www.piaa.co.uk[/url] do amazing lighting systems. And also very very good wiper blades, as it happens. Very highly recommended.
