bike racks

Featured Replies

I am planning on using the octy for taking my bike to various places. Does anyone use or has anyone had any problems fitting a bike rack???? I am just curious if the spoiler causes a problem cheers

I prefer roof racks to boot racks. The Skoda roof bars are easy and quick to fit, combine with a couple of nice bike racks (Thule are great) and they work really well.

Boot racks can cause problems with covering the number plate and rear-lights and (as you say) may cause problems with the spoiler.

If you're just carrying one bike then just put it in the boot. The Octavia will take a wheel-less bike without the need to fold down the seats. Best solution for safety and fuel economy.

If you want to be ultra safe with bike carrying, fit a tow bar and get a Pendle tow bar/ball mounted rack...they go up to 4 bike capacity if you need it (mine is). It comes complete with number plate mounting and full light set all protected.

I fully trust my rack never to fall off, or lose a bike which is more than I ever have done with any other bike rack I,ve had.
