Front door speakers Vrs

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone give me any tips about replacing the drivers door speaker please, its my Son's car but no doubt I'll end up helping/doing the job!

Are the OE speakers ok and what sort of price are we talking?

Thanks:confused:

David what car are you referring to. The octavia is easy, but I am unsure about the other models.

The grill on the octavia comes off to reveal the screws underneath.

Its an Octavia Vrs Mk 1

Some key points......

It is easy to get to the speakers for replacing.

Consider that right behind the speaker is the door skin making the fit for most speakers very shallow unless you cut a hole into the skin (see my thread further down the page!!!!:( )

I believe (too late for me!) that you can fit most speakers with the help of a spacer that will prevent you cutting into the skin.

In my opinion.... The supplied speakers are pretty awful so replacing will make a big difference. Before that though, I would strongly recommend replacing the head unit as you will get a big difference in sound quality. I also understand that the space behind the head unit is tight so can be a bit fiddly.
