Hi all

Have found this forum while searching for technical advice for my 2001 Octavia TDi Elegance, in which I have now covered almost 80,000 (mostly) happy miles since new. The MAF sensor has gone up the spout, so am awaiting a new one to fit in the next few days...unplugging the failed one worked wonders for a few days until I plugged it back in! Have found lots of useful advice on here, so thought I would join..well you never know when you might be able to give someone else a bit of a helping hand, do you?

Have my eye on a new TDi VRs...when I win the lottery!:)

all the best

Andrew

Picked up the new MAF sensor today, and fitted it this evening. It took all of 10 minutes, and then took the car out for a quick run to see if it made any difference. HAving driven for the last couple of days with the faulty MAF unplugged I wasn't sure how much change I would see.....

I haven't stopped smiling yet...I now have a Tdi 110 that feels like it did when it was new :):):)

I have fitted a Pierburg sensor rather than a Bosch, and had it shipped from Germany for less than 50 quid. Best 50 quid I've spent for ages. I'm actually looking forward to driving to work in the morning (how sad is that?) and if I didn't have a load of painting to do tonight would be having a bit of a blast right now!

I know it's not a VRs, but I still love it!
