Spring Heaven!!!!

Featured Replies

Ive had the vRS springs and dampers fitted to my TDI today and I've not stopped grinning yet! :smileyrai

Once I'd got the bugs out the system, ie the mechanic not fitting them right! The springs where not properly located at the top on one side and the bottom on the other! :thumbsdow

But I would recomend anyone with a TDI who does not want to go down the route of a full sports kit and major drop in ride hide get someone to sell you a set of nearly new vRS components! It corners like its on rails, very little nose drop when braking HARD, very little rise when accelrating and yet it is not crashly or boucy when taking speed bumps a little too quick! I'm in heaven and not sure if I will get the arb's. :jumpsmile

Glad ur happy mate :)

You do have to be carefull with the front struts, the top mounts can be a bit of a pain in the rectum to say the least if they come apart.

Not a bad deal then eh?

Cheers

Jon,

You of all people should know that the Octavia is the one and only true RS.

Sorry mate wasnt aimed at yourself, more anyone attempting to fit suspension themselves, as you mentioned they had problems.

I was asking at my dealers how easy it is to change the springs. They said that the spring have to be set up wonky and when they are tightened up, they straighten themselves out (or words not to dissimilar) so no wonder they had problems setting it up.

How long did it take the guys at the garage to fit the Octy Springs and dampers, sounds like a good idea to me. I have an avenue of getting them new, maybe!? How much of a drop has it put on the Fabia and did they go on with no modifications?

Some many questions so little time!!!!

Matt

The Fabia vRS springs are availible as an official accessory where they are labelled sports springs (although double check to make sure). They drop the ride hight by 15mm. Not too sure on the cost but knowing skoda, it may be cheaper to go for 30mm drop Eibachs
