dog gaurd

Featured Replies

does anyone know if the dog gaurd/net can retro fitted to the vrs?

and idea how much it would cost?

after a small trip with the dog i stoped to notice the dog had got a little peckish and tore the pocket off the back of the passanger seat  cant be having that!

any help would be much appreciated

tippo

Yes, you can get a a metal dog guard. It'll cost about £92 from a dealer but will be a perfect fit.

Yep, I have one. Even the most wriggle dog won't be able to escape from the back. You can't use the parcel shelf at the same time, which is annoying.

Worth bearing in mind that they scrach the boot lid lip if you don't lift them in and out.

Lots of bedding is important if your vRS is know for sudden burst of speed (as mine is) as the dogs slide backwards.

Halfrauds do a great bootliner with a drop down flap to protect the bumper:thumbup:

I have one which is unused now I have an Octy II.

jmk2 was the pm for me?

Emily, is your guard the genuine SKoda item? The genuine fabia and Octavia MKI guards allow you to use the parcel shelf at the same time.

It says 'genuine skoda part' on it. I am willing to imagine that I am not fitting it right. It seems to use the same groves that the rolly bit of the parcel shelf uses. (if that makes any sence)

Thats interesting.

I had a fabia guard that I bought on EBAY that the seller sold incorrectly as an Octavia guard. A quick check of the part number revealed it was for a Fabia.

It had 2 plates that you fitted around the clips which, hold the rear seat back in place.

I sold it to a Fabia owner on here who fitted it no problems, and managed to use the parcel shelf.

I know there are 2 versions of the Octavia guard. I have the Version that was sold in Germany and mounts in the same was as the Fabia one I had. Perhaps there are 2 Fabia versions too ?

That's correct, that was me ! :D

Mine's fitted in SWMBO's Fabia estate but it doesn't hinder the parcel shelf (roller shelf on the estate) as it sits on the two outer ledges just behind the passenger seat and is secured to two brackets which in turn locate on the rear seat anchor points. :)

Two labradors in the back think it's great !

Right. Where is my camera?

Looks totally different to the one I had.

Does it have a Skoda part number on it ?

And WTF is the dog wearing

If you remember Phil, I had also bought a dog guard on ebay which was listed as fitting a Fabia but it turned out not to fit the estate hence the reason I bought yours.

The one in Emily's picture looks exactly like the first one I bought which was too narrow to fit the estate. It was a genuine Skoda part but I can't recall the part number now.

That's how I would have imagined it to fit though.

Just to add, the dog looks quite happy with it ! :D

Ahh... I had forgotten about that. Seems daft that the hatch version doesnt fit in the same manner as the estate though.

Yeah, does seem a bit silly !

I have a quick question -

Normally Princess doesn't go in the boot (unless she is drity) she normally sits on the passenger seat and looks out the window. In Vlad she used to smell the air vents so as she knew what was going on outside, but with the AirCon I don't think she can.

Anyway. When I leave her in the car she sets off the motion sensor! Is there anyway I can stop that from happening as it is giving her the shock of her life! Bless her.

Oh and Goochie - she likes wearing clothes! She has just been to the groomers and she gets fairly cold without her fluff. Wait until you see her in wet weather gear!

Hi Emily,

I'm not sure how to disable this on the Fabia, "our" Fabia's really my wifes car & I've never investigated this.

I have a Golf & there's a switch on the foot of the pillar the seatbelt is mounted to that turns off the interior sensor.

However, there is a post on here that suggests that if you lock the car with the keyfob & push the lock button on the fob twice, it disables the interior sensor but I'm afraid can't vouch for that. :)
